This tea offers a unique blend with the vegetative flavor of green tea leaves and the toasty flavor of popped rice. The process of making this tea blend includes “firing the rice,” which looks very similar to popping popcorn, hence the nickname “popcorn tea.”

Ingredients: green tea and roasted, popped rice

Japan Genmaicha Yamasaki is a loose leaf green tea harvested in Japan.

 

Hot brewing directions: Steep 1 heaping teaspoon of tea in 8 ounces of water at 180 degrees Fahrenheit for 3-7 minutes.

Cold brewing directions: Steep 1 heaping teaspoon of tea in 6-7 ounces of water at 180 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes. Add to a 12-ounce glass with ice.
